Empowering Teachers, Inspiring Young Minds

We believe every teacher can bring computing to life. That’s why we offer free resources, interactive workshops, and live lessons—supporting educators every step of the way. Whether new to computing or building expertise, Barefoot empowers teachers to inspire young minds.

Safer Internet Day 2026

In the UK, Safer Internet Day is one of the biggest dates in the online safety calendar. Each year, schools across the country take part by running activities, assemblies and lessons that help pupils think critically about how they use the internet and engage with digital technology in positive, safe and responsible ways.

For Safer Internet Day 2026 (Tuesday 10 February 2026), the theme is “Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI”. This theme invites classrooms to consider how artificial intelligence already shapes their digital lives, how it can be used responsibly, and what it means to make safe, informed choices when using smart technology online.

To support teachers in exploring this topic with pupils, we’ve prepared a free resource pack: Smart Tech, Safe Choices. Designed for use in primary classrooms, these materials provide practical, age-appropriate lessons and activities that link computing and digital literacy with Safer Internet Day learning.
