        Quick Computing Fun for Busy Days

        The 5 Minute Fillers PDF is a handy pull‑out sheet offering short, no‑tech activities designed to slot easily into the school day or at‑home learning. These bite‑sized challenges, each linked to a specific computational thinking concept, and help children quickly reinforce key ideas through fun and flexible play.

        On the One-to-One Learning hub, you'll find a rich collection of learner‑and‑parent‑friendly activities, including one‑to‑one tasks, creative worksheets, and interactive Scratch‑style games.         Back to school with Scratch

        Kick off the new school year with a creative coding activity perfect for beginners! In this live lesson, pupils will use Scratch to design and animate the letters of their name. 

        This session is ideal for teachers and classes who are new to Scratch or looking for a fun, accessible way to get started. Pupils will learn how to: 

        Choose and customise letter sprites 

        Use simple code blocks to add animations 

        Bring their names to life on screen with movement, colour changes, and sound 

        No prior experience is needed—this is a great way to build confidence with Scratch while developing key computing skills such as sequencing, repetition, and debugging.

        Introducing the micro:bit

        Join us for a live lesson designed for teachers and pupils who are new to the micro:bit. If you’ve got micro:bits in your classroom but aren’t sure how to get started, this is the perfect introduction. 

        During the session, pupils will explore some of the micro:bit’s inputs and outputs using the MakeCode programming environment. They’ll write simple programs, learn how to download them to the device, and discover how the micro:bit can interact with the world around them. 

        With step-by-step guidance and interactive activities, this lesson will help build confidence in using the micro:bit and introduce pupils to the exciting possibilities of physical computing

        Dive into Cyber Safety with The Phisherman!

        Join us for an exciting live lesson where students will explore an enchanting underwater village under threat from a mysterious digital villain — the Phisherman! Through the immersive game The Phisherman, children will learn to recognise the signs of phishing and understand how to stay safe online. As they help the underwater residents defend their village, students will engage in interactive challenges, guided discussions, and teacher-led reflections that reinforce key online safety concepts. 

        This session is a fantastic opportunity to build digital resilience in a fun, story-driven environment.

        Resource of the Month

        Our Resource of the Month, Investigating Inputs, encourages hands-on pupil exploration as they discover how digital devices respond to different inputs. This engaging activity also provides a rich context for cross-curricular learning, supporting links to science, design and technology, and everyday problem-solving.
