The Bee-Bots Basics Activity has been rated 5 stars

RESOURCE OVERVIEW:

In this activity pupils design and solve challenges using a programmable toy. To meet the challenges they create sequences of instructions (an algorithm) to navigate a route.

PUPIL OBJECTIVES:

  • I can write an algorithm.
  • I can program a Bee-Bot.
  • I can debug an algorithm and program.

TEACHING ASSESSMENT OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Informal teacher assessment of progress during the activity. Focus on pupils creating correctly sequenced algorithms for their challenges, accurately entering their algorithms into the Bee-Bot and using logical reasoning to debug their algorithm or code if required.
  • Marking of planning sheets or BT worksheets, photographs of command card sequences.

LESSON TIMING: 30 min
